The Vancouver Apneist Club is hosting a series of pool training/practice sessions every second Wednesday evening at the UBC Aquatic Centre. We are renting two lanes of the pool for freedive training and skills development. New and prospective freedivers are welcome to come out but please contact us first.
Our pool time is from 8pm to 9pm but please show up at least a half hour earlier for briefing\, stretching and gearing up.
We have rented this pool time so just tell them you're with the freediving group. We're charging a $5 drop-in fee to cover the rental cost.

The gathering time is 9\:00 am at the dock on the south beach.
We will have the counterbalance system and measured line for dives of up to 40m. Feel free to join us to get some practice or technique pointers. This is the last opportunity to train with the club before the upcoming Free Immersion competition on June 13th.

It's called the Triple Depth Series and is aimed towards new freedivers who are either thinking of becoming competitors or are just curious about what depth they can reach. The depth is limited to 30 metres maximum so that we can keep the logistics simple and the registration cost down to $25.

Our group was highly recommended for our help with several other eelgrass surveys over the years.
If you take the ferry from Tsawwassen to Victoria\, Mayne is the island to the left as you go through Active Pass. It is a beautiful island with several protected sandy bays\, meaning lots of eelgrass habitat.
